A yellow bulb for the porch or patio: 9 watts, 800 lumens, and a powder coating that keeps blue light out of the beam. GREENIC gives its output as 530 to 590 nanometers, the yellow part of the spectrum, at 2200K.
Why yellow? Many flying insects are drawn to blue and white light more than to warm, long-wavelength light. Studies show fewer insects around yellow and amber lamps. It is a standard A19 with an E26 base, so it replaces a 60 watt porch bulb without any change to the fixture.

It does not kill or repel insects. It is less attractive to many of them than a white bulb.
Colors look yellow under it. It is a porch light, not a work light.
It has no sensor. It stays on until you switch it off.

Used these bulbs in enclosed outdoor porch lights. The yellow bulb seems effective in lighting the porch area without attracting insects. In extended low temperatures, the bulb is slow to light or sometimes does not come on. Has lasted several years without requiring replacement. Overall, very satisfied.

I love the color of these lights. They are not only effective and bright, but give great curb appeal at night. My only issue....I bought four bulbs. I inserted 2. Then 2 more in other lights about 2 weeks later. One of the 2nd set has already burned out. I would estimate that it only had about 90 hours on it. Otherwise.....I would give them Five Stars.

Great LED bulb. Emits a softer yellow with excellent brightness. It does not attract ANY bugs unlike some of the other so called bug lights. Long lasting bulb although I purchased extras for use when they fail. They’ve been in storage well over a year now. Highly recommended!

I live in Atlanta near the river. The river and the humidity in the summer are the perfect breeding grounds for many flying and biting insects. The first night I used the bulb, I opened my patio door and didn't walk into a wall of hundreds of flying insects. I was impressed! I do see a few moths now and then which don't bother me. But, no more gnats, biting black flies etc.
