A PAR38 is the wide, flat-faced bulb you find in outdoor floodlight holders and some recessed cans. Ours glows a deep red and draws 15 watts, rated as a 100 watt equivalent.
Use it where you want color thrown at something: a wall, a tree, the front of the house. For a soft red glow in a table lamp, the A19 colored bulbs are the better fit.
